Sundargarh has made tremendous achievements in Industrial Development, Agriculture, Education, Health, Skill development and sports
The 76th Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic fervour at the Reserve Police ground here. Industry, Hon’ble Minister MSME and Energy Minister in Odisha Government Shri Pratap Keshari Deb unfurled the national flag and inspected the guard of honour.
Addressing as Chief Guest on the occasion, the Minister recalled the hard fought national freedom movement. He remembered the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters and paid rich tributes to them.
The minister recollected the supreme sacrifices of the heroes from Sundargarh for their valiant role in the national freedom movement.
“Our country today completed 75 years of Independence. We are celebrating the Amrit Mahotasav. It is for the great efforts of the people of the country, India has achieved a unique identity in the world. During the past 75 years, Odisha has also made big progress in many sectors. To keep the progress movement of Odisha alive, cooperation from each and everyone is necessary,” said Pratap Keshari Deb.
The Minister has further said that under the leadership of Hon'ble Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, the stream of Odisha’s development is moving at a great pace. Sundargarh district has also joined the mainstream of development. The district has made tremendous achievements in the fields of Education, Health, technical education, skill development, Industrial development, roads and sports.
The district level Independence Day celebration was attended by Sundargarh collector, Dr Parag Harshad Gavali, SP Smt Sagarika Nath, Zilla Parishad Chief Development-cum-Executive officer Shri Bhairav Singh Patel, Addl District Collector (revenue) Shri Shivshankar Toppo, Sub-collector Abhimanyu Behera and District Information and Public Relation Officer Nandini Mundary.
On the occasion, the district administration has organized Ram Dhun in the wee hours of morning. Unfurling of the national flag and garlanding of statues of freedom fighters held at District Collector office, schools, college and other institutions.
Sundargarh collector Dr Parag Harshad Gavali unfurled the national flag at District Collectorate, DMF and Red Cross office. Statutes of Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi, former PM Lal Bahadur Shastri and Sundargarh King Raja Raghunath Sekhar Deo on the premises of District Collector Office garlanded. Many senior officials accompanied Sundargarh District Collector in the celebration of Independence Day.
