Hon’ble MLA Bonai, Shri Laxman Munda, accompanied the Collector Dr Parag Harshad Gavali in taking a review regarding the progress of various public welfare programmes across sectors like healthcare, education and sports, being implemented in the Gurundia block.

In order to assess the physical progress of the projects, the legislator and the Collector visited Community Health Centre (CHC) at Gurundia and enquired with the doctors about the patient services available there. 

They both then interacted with the beneficiaries about the services rendered to them at the Maternity Waiting Home (Maa Gruha) at the CHC premises.

The Hon’ble MLA along with the Collector Sundargarh then paid a visit to the soon-to-be functional Integrated Physiotherapy Unit (IPU) at the CHC here. The IPU centres have been set up across the district at CHC level to provide free of cost modern physio therapy services towards rehabilitation of patients with various ailments.

High school transformation programme has been taken up in the district under the 5T initiative of the Government of Odisha. Both reviewed the transformation work under progress at the Gurundia Panchayat Samiti Govt High School, and had also interacted with the students regarding learning facilities in the newly built Smart Classrooms.  

With Rourkela hosting the FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup 2023 in January, an inclusive sports infrastructure focused on hockey is being developed in the district. Along with a modern synthetic turf at the Bhawanipur Sports Hostel, 16 block level modern hockey turf grounds are being established on a mission mode. 

Sundargarh Collector Dr Parag Harshad Gavali directed officials for the early completion of the international-level hockey turf ground at Gurundia block while on his review visit. 

The officials who accompanied the Collector on his visit were Sundargarh Zilla Parishad Vice-Chairman Shri Kamal Lakra, Sub Collector Bonai Shri Suranjan Sahu, Bonai ITDA Project Administrator Shri Lalat Kumar Luha and Gurundia BDO Shri Barnadith Lakra.
