Sundargarh Collector Reviews Work Of Developmental Projects In Balishankra Block

Sundargarh District Collector Dr Parag H. Gavali reviewed the progress of work of various developmental projects during a visit to the Balishankra block on Wednesday. He took stock of the performance of the public welfare projects by holding direct interaction with the beneficiaries and concerned departmental officials, while laying stress on the early completion of the on-going projects.
It is worth mentioning here that various developmental projects are currently underway in the district with financial support from the Sundargarh District Mineral Foundation (DMF) and the Odisha Mineral Bearing Areas Development Corporation (OMBADC). The projects under Balishankra block are among those.
The High School Transformation programme under the 5T initiative of the state Govt is being carried out in Sundargarh district. Dr Gavali visited the construction sites at Balishankra, Talsara and Birbar High Schools. He also witnessed the modern infrastructure at Bandhabahal government High School, which has been carried out under the High School Transformation programme, and interacted with the students and teachers.
Thereafter, the Collector visited the modern Anganwadi centre at Tumulia Panchayat which has been constructed in line with the BaLA (Building as Learning Aid) model and enquired with the Anganwadi workers about the nutrition programme and drinking water facility at the centre. Dr. Gavali also inspected the works at the Astroturf Hockey Stadium, Odisha Adarsh Vidyalaya and the construction of a hostel meant for SC/ST students.
The Sundargarh District Administration has built Maternity Waiting Homes to ensure safe motherhood in the remote areas of the district. Dr. Gavali visited the Maternity Waiting Home at Rauldega under Balishankra block and took briefing about the various services provided there to expectant women and mothers post delivery.
The Collector flagged off autorickshaws allotted to three beneficiaries from Talasara, Koruabahal and Balishankra Gram Panchayats under the ‘Ajibika Gramin Express’ scheme for Weman SHG members launched by the District Administration. He also visited the Chhatua Manufacturing Unit at Balishankra which is run by Women SHG members.
Balishankra block Chairman Kunjalata Bhitiria, ZP member Jayanti Ekka, BDO Basanti Lakra, Tehsildar Rina Naik, JE Radheshyam Das, AE Sairam Marndi, OLM Block Programme Manager Arabind Naik and CDPO Pratima Tanti were among those who accompanied the Collector during the visit.
